Welcome!

At Gloria Dei, we believe the church isn’t just a building—it’s a community of people transformed by Jesus and on a mission to make Him known. We’re passionate about helping more people live life with Jesus every day and multiplying disciples to expand God’s Kingdom.

Our ministries are here to help you discover your unique calling, strengthen your faith, and build meaningful relationships. Together, we’re equipping men, women, and children to become like Jesus and live out their God-given calling as we equip Kingdom leaders into the world to share His love.

Wherever you are on your journey, we invite you to encounter Jesus through one of the many ministries of Gloria Dei and explore more of His grace and mercy as you experience the joy, purpose, and connection that comes from living fully alive in God’s grace.

Our Beliefs

Gloria Dei is a congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. As Lutheran Christians, we celebrate and live out three basic tenants of our salvation:

Grace Alone

Our salvation is based on the free gift of God’s grace. Through His grace, God offers us a new start, and a new life in Him, in this present world and for eternity with Him in heaven.

Faith Alone

God's gift of grace is received through faith in what Jesus has done for us. Jesus suffered and died, to purchase and win forgiveness and eternal life for each of us. Those who hear and believe this have the eternal life that it offers.

Scripture Alone

The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ.

Our Core Values

Deeply rooted in the Clear Lake community, Gloria Dei continues to thrive through faithful worship and vibrant ministry. Looking ahead, our greatest opportunity isn't simply increasing attendance or expanding programs, but cultivating a true culture of discipleship.

RELATIONSHIPS rooted in Jesus make life more fulfilling.

John 15:12-13
  • Grace defines us. Relationships distinguish us.
  • As a multi-generational family there is joy and purpose within our relationships that create space for vulnerability and grace.
  • Growth happens in community, not in isolation. Whether someone is a first-time guest or a long-time member, they belong here.
  • Fulfillment is found in Christ-centered connection where grace is received and shared.

WORSHIP AND BIBLICAL TEACHING open hearts to Jesus.

Colossians 3:16
  • Word and worship are central to who we are and how God forms us.
  • We believe transformation happens through the means of grace God has given. Through Word and Sacrament, the Holy Spirit convicts, comforts, and brings people to faith.
  • The church isn't built on personality or preference but anchored on Christ.
  • We expect God to transform lives as His Word is proclaimed.

DISCIPLESHIP shapes people to live fully alive in Jesus.

John 10:10
  • The life of a follower of Jesus is not just about conversion, but transformation, reshaping our identity and transforming our lives in the spaces we live, work, learn, play and gather.
  • The Christian life is abundant, formed in community, multiplied through relationships, and seen in visible fruit.
  • We are serious about spiritual growth - for kids, students, adults, and everyone. We believe that growth in our character and calling equals Kingdom Impact.
  • Growth is intentional, not accidental. Discipleship moves at the speed of relationships.

SERVING changes lives within Gloria Dei and beyond.

1 Peter 4:10
  • The church exists for others, not just itself. Serving isn't just something we do, it's who we are.
  • God has given every person gifts, experiences, and passions to strengthen the church and bless the world.
  • Faithful generosity fuels life-changing ministry. Our giving provides the resources to serve well and extends our Kingdom impact far beyond ourselves.
  • We are an outward-facing church. Serving begins locally within our congregation and community, and it reaches globally as we participate in God's mission to the world.

We encourage and welcome families to worship together on Sunday mornings as well as time to grow in their faith in environments designed around their ages and learning levels. We have dedicated time on Sunday mornings for devotion and obedience to God's Word with age-appropriate discipleship for kids, students and adults between services from 9:45-10:45am.

Communion is generally observed on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of each month in addition to special liturgical days such as Christmas Eve, Holy Week, and Easter.
